That Japan is a land of earthquakes, should be well known. Parts of Japan have finally been created by volcanoes. What I did not know, however, is that Shizuoka is located in the most highly active part of Japan, because
three continental plates are meeting here. And besides, everyone is waiting for the next big earthquake. It could be happen every second, since it is long overdue. Therefore, there are also earthquake exercises as one should behave in case of an emergency. At the entrance I received from the university also a disaster bag, u.a. Food, water, heat corner, and a portable radio. In addition, I am also recorded in the internal notification system. Since this goes partial over the Internet, I think at least this part is only for limited use.
Speaking of registration, I have registered my stay at the German Embassy, so my presence is known here, in case of a case.
