Because everything goes through the stomach or at least hits him, there is today a small selection of dishes which are possible here.

As already said there is in the supermarket already cooked, packaged meals to buy. These are lowered in the evening, usually around 8 pm, because of their short shelf life. This also shows my working hours here, because I only buy when they are cheaper and I (mostly) did not have taste them, yet. The dark noodles are soba noodles, in which case it should be Yakisoba. The red to this is inlaid, sour ginger. The white forms are meat in a noodle dough coat. The last an omelette on rice.

Here is the cafeteria meal again, which is cooked by a company directly before your eyes. The almost ball-shaped is a dessert called Sata Andagi, is deep-fried and has flavor similarities with a donut. Very delicious;) Speaking of donut, there is a chain called Mister Donut, who make their donuts probably still by hand. At least the are damned good ^ ^
The Japanese also have their own kind of curry (of which I am a big fan). Everthing can be in it, whether it be carrots, potatoes, apples or honey. Also depends on the season and what is just growing or being caught. It is eaten with a spoon and not with chopsticks. Side info, this is also true for sushi, which is usually eaten with the hand.
The “noodle soup dish” is Udon noodles, bad to eat with chopsticks.
The egg was put into soya sauce, tasted good, in any case better than it might seem.
The right dough ball contains a sweet, red bean paste from adzuki beans, which I personally love. In Germany you can also buy in asiashops, even if I had only once a Korean version, which was much sweeter. This paste can be used with everything, so it is also available in bread wares or in onigiris. These are in pressed rice lumps with or without filling. Some have even wrapped a sheet of algae around them. Used as a small intermediate meal as well as (part of a) main meal time on the road. The adzuki beans paste is also the following pancake-like dessert.

If you visit a restaurant here, you can generally see without problems what you can eat, because very often either pictures or plastic imitation models show what is offered.

A well-known pizza delivery service is also active, but with much higher prices.

As I mentioned elsewhere, the here have many different variations of sweet bread dishes. The elongated bread is not only covered with chocolate, but can also contain many different creams or jams or etc. Finished burgers can also be bought at supermarkets, as well as fruits enclosed in gel / jam. The one in the plastic bag is something to nibble, which tastes quite like meat and has a addictive character.

A brief recourse to the food prices here. These small watermelons are available for 2127 yen, currently about 17.12 €. To be fair, after about 2 weeks the price was only about 1600 Yen, thus about 12.88 €.

And if you’re in Japan, you have to be brave and try Natto at least once. They you can divide Japan, in those who eat it and those who hate it. Natto is a traditional food made from fermented soybeans. And they are quite sticky and pull really many strong threads.
So, for me, impossible to eat pure, the taste I won’t describe. But it’s OK when I mix it with the soya sauce. However then only in  a small amount and I would like it rather as part of another meal.

I was with colleagues on the occasion of a farewell in a family restaurant, which serves more European food. In this case, the served meat was cooked at the table, the table support had to be held up, so that the splashing fat did not get caught by myself or the seat set. The platter was still incredibly hot. Taste was OK.

In addition, I was pushed to the following with the nose: Furikake. These are spice mixes to put on the rice, if you do not want to eat pure.
The example also includes Wasabi, but the taste is to much algae.
