Tokyo- Shinjuku Samurai Museum

Tokyo- Shinjuku Samurai Museum

Actually, the main reason we came to Tokyo. The Samurai Museum. It is quite small, but has real armor, Katana and accessories. Some more than 400 years old. Some are also replicas. Guided tours are also possible in English, in a good English. It’s also possible to get free photos for samurai clothes. You can also buy replicas, Jaido Katanas (not sharp) and real Katanas.
If I had not wait for a scholarship, probably I would have bought one ….

At the end, we were fortunate enough to be able to see a demonstration of Kenjutsus basics.

In the evening we went back by bus to Shizuoka, so we arrived around 21.30.
In the end I can only say it was worth it, but was too short. Both for these districts as well as for total Tokyo. The Tokyo Tower, Imperial Palace + Garden, Mejishrrein and others are on my list for the next time.
